Putting your skins into NASCAR Heat

Save your painting as car.tga, making sure it's a 24-bit uncompressed .tga file.

Download tga_to_tex.zip

Unzip the tex.bat & mktex.exe into the same folder.

With your car.tga, tex.bat & mktex.exe all in the same folder, double click the tex.bat file. A MSDOS box will pop up and go away, don't worry, it's just working it's magic. A few seconds later you will have a car.tex file.

Rename your car.tex file to car###.tex (where ### represents the number's you've chosen ie 46).

Copy your car###.tex file and paste it into the proper folder (C:\Program Files\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat\Add on you painted the skin for, ie UDTRAheat).

Open the drivers.txt file found in the same folder you just put your car###.tex into.

Most drivers.txt file are very similar, so a brief look over what is already in there should make it easier.

Copy a section from table driver to end.

Go to the bottom of the list and paste it, it should look similar to this...

table Driver
              number 46
              name Lynn Amick
              chassis udtra
                        wheel_basename hrtire
              rank 1
              race_image 43
              body_style fcar
end

Of course the name and number, or any other things you may have to change that is particular to each add-on.

Be sure there are 2 ends at the bottom of the list (typically one on top of the other), and save the changes.

Launch your game and you should find your name in the drivers list, and your new car waiting to be raced.
